Community Led Development (CLD)
On the 12th April at about 6:30pm at the Carterton Events Centre, Resilient Carterton on behalf of the Carterton Community will sign a two-year agreement with the Department of Internal Affairs to partner with them under the Community Led Development Programme.
The Community Led Development Programme (CLDP) is a flexible programme in which the Government is supporting community-led development by providing support and advice but the work is led by the community. We have a two-year period (extendable to 5 years) in which we can launch projects and initiatives that benefit our community.
The key words are "community led". This means you. We will be engaging with the community to find out what it wants. Like our Facebook page, and sign up for our newsletter (it's in the left-hand column) to keep in touch with what's happening. Do you have a dream for our community? We'd like to hear from you.
Update May 2019
The CLD Programme is under the governance of the Ka Pai Committee under the name Ka Pai Carterton.
You can keep up with what is happening on their Facebook page - Ka Pai Carterton.
The Ka Pai Committee's April 2019 meeting.
The first stage is the development of a Community Plan that expresses the desires, vision and aspiations of our Carterton Community. Onjce that is done, initiatives will commence to deliver on the plan. We the community have to make that happen and the Department of Internal Affairs will help us achieve that (they won't do it for us).
Look out for events, surveys and other opportunities to engage with Ka Pai Carterton to have your say in what you'd like to see happen in our district to make us a more vibrant, stronger and happier community.

The Carterton Community Pulse is a survey that was conducted through November and early December 2018.
The purpose of the survey was to discover some basic information about how people spent their time, what they thought of the district and the future and some other information. The intended audience of the output is for groups and organisations within Carterton who want to know more about the people in our community.
The reports are called "Friendly Carterton" as the response to the question "what three words best describe Carterton?" had an overwhelming response with the word "friendly".
The report doesn't provide a view or summary of the details of the report; rather, we are providing just the results from the respondents and leaving interpretation up to the reader.
The report is in two parts:
- Main Report
Provides details of the multi-choice questions in the survey and summaries of the open-ended questions.
- Raw Details Report
The verbatim responses to the open-ended questions that support the main report.
If you wish you may also download the raw responses data from the survey for your own analysis.
